I was told that I was destined to be Santa Claus when I was a child. All of my aunties likened me to my Uncle Jimmy, who was a professional Santa Claus in Miami back in the 1970s and 1980s. They said I had his looks and personality, minus the beard at that time. Ho Ho Ho. I loved my uncle Jimmy dearly. He truly was the living embodiment of Father Christmas and as a child I simply adored him. I couldn’t think of a better person to grow up to be just like.
As a young adult I trained as a psychiatric nurse and have worked in mental health as a clinician for nearly 30 years. I have spent a considerable amount of those years working in child and adolescent psychiatry and with young adults.
At 29 I trained to be a professional actor at performing arts school and have spent 20 years in the performing arts world. I am accomplished as an actor, writer, director and producer. I sing like Bing Crosby and play the ukulele rather well, if I do say so myself. I am a natural born entertainer and enjoy being with people all of the time.
I have spent my adult life working in two worlds preparing for the ultimate role, that of Father Christmas. I am currently employed through the year, as The Mental Health Clinician for North Shore Community Corrections, helping to get boys and girls in the community off “The Naughty List” in time for Christmas.
